The MSBDC Boston Regional Office
& Minority Business Center conducts seminars and workshops on various aspects of
managing a small business. We offer specialized training scheduled at

This popular workshop provides a complete
overview of business start-up and planning considerations, oriented to those
planning a venture as well as existing small business owners. Topics include the
entrepreneurial lifestyle, feasibility, business strategy, business plan
preparation, marketing, financing and additional resources. A free workbook is provided. These seminars are
offered free of charge.

Sales and
Marketing Basics

So, you’ve already started your business, but nobody is calling, and nobody
is buying (or they aren’t buying enough!). This workshop provides an
overview and orientation to basic marketing concepts, strategies and
tactics. You will learn about developing marketing strategies, conducting
research, establishing pricing, the meaning of “branding”, distribution
channels, advertising, public relations, and most importantly, ideas for
maximizing awareness and sales.

Massachusetts Conference for Women
RETHINK,
RESOLVE, RENEW. The Massachusetts Conference for Women offers incredible
opportunities for community connection, business networking, and
professional and personal growth.
It provides connection, motivation, networking, inspiration and skill
building for thousands of women each year. Since the first conference in
2005, this annual one-day event has grown to attract more than 4,500
attendees and impact thousands of lives.
Keynote speakers include: Suze Orman, personal finance expert and
bestselling author; Marcus Buckingham, leading business consultant and
bestselling author; Tory Johnson, CEO of Women for Hire and Good Morning
America's workplace contributor; Diane Patrick, first lady of Massachusetts,

of business law and contracts, you will learn about how contracts are
