Parking on Campus
(effective Fall 2011)
With increased enrollment and increasing construction on campus, there
will be a greater demand for parking. To accommodate parking needs, once
campus lots fill up, drivers will be directed to the Bayside Expo Center
property on Mount Vernon Street. Parking fees at Bayside will be collected
upon entry.
A dedicated shuttle bus (Route 3) will provide service directly from the
Bayside to the Campus Center and the Public Safety Department will
also be present at the lot to assist you.
To minimize any disruption to your day, it is suggested that you:
-
Allow extra time when traveling to campus
-
Plan your route in advance
-
Use public transportation and the free UMass Boston shuttle bus
whenever possible
-
Anticipate parking challenges
Underground parking is no longer available on the UMass

public transportation, especially during the opening weeks of the semester
when traffic volume can be very high (first few weeks of September and
last week of January-beginning of February). Should parking lots fill at
any given point in time you will be directed to the UMass Boston Bayside,
which is located at the end of Mt. Vernon Street near the JFK MBTA
station. Shuttle service will be provided to the campus.
